Hochschule der Medien and FRESH TRASH

In only 4 months the students from Print Media Technologies as well as Advertising and Kommunikation of Hochschule der Medien created the product FRESH TRASH and even produced it at the university. The product shows critics to nowadays consumer society with more than 600kg of waste per person per year in Germany. The students collected waste and published more than 400 different food- photography pictures with more than 170 advert slogans.

The collection will be shown at the Frankfurter Buchmesse in fall 2019!

This month's TechTalk "Let there be light... and color"

The next TechTalk organized by the FILMAKADEMIE Baden-Württemberg, the HOCHSCHULE DER MEDIEN, the MEDIA SOLUTION CENTER and AMCRS and by the FILM COMMISSION STUTTGART will take place 25th this month and we are happy to be hearing the talks this time from Volker Helzle and Jonas Trottnow from the Filmakademie as well as from Jan Fröhlich from the HdM.

All tech interested people (and nerds) are welcome, no need to sign up, but make sure to come early as there are only so many seats. There is a bar where you can get a cool drink and there will also be some snacks afterwards.

HdM working on a Museum for digital natives

The Ministry for Science, Research and Art (MWK) of Baden-Württemberg is funding the project MUSEUM FOR DIGITAL NATIVES to find new ways of how to animate people to visit the museum. So the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and the Naturkundemuseum are working closely with the Hochschule der Medien on interactive exhibition experiences. With Artification and Gamification the visitors will soon be able to explore the museum with using their smartphones. One of the VR Games was already made available during the ITFS at the beginning of May: “Abgetaucht - Ein Fischlernspiel” is a VR Experience developed by students of the HdM and pupils from the Ludwig Uhland Gymnasiums in Kirchheim Teck.

HdM with first Symposium for UUX

The first symposium for MISSION UUX - Usability and User Experience - takes place this month and shows all the different perspectives like future of labour and artificial intelligence, innovation, virtual cooperations, robotics and so on. The Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) is hosting this event and the Hochschule der Medien is directing the 16 institutions present on that day.

Communication Camp @Hochschule der Medien

Nowadays stress in your daily life, especially in your job life, is as common as breathing for us. We work late nights, we hustle to make deadlines all the while trying to have a social life as well. Where is it gonna end or is there a way to successfully avoid stress? These and other questions about stress and mindfulness in a daily work routine will be discussed at the COMMUNICATION CAMP hosted bey the students of  Crossmedia-Redaktion/Public Relation at Hochschule der Medien.

The event will start with the Keynote “Mindful or mind full?!” and is followed by a shared yoga practice and other interesting and powerful speeches. You are welcome to join, the event is free.

Hochschule der Medien hosts Accessibility Day

This event will host some great talks about “Inclusion and Rehabilitation of artificial intelligence”. Students as well as guests from politics, science and economics will give insights and will discuss projects. Edutain Me @ITFS today!

Pixelcloud and Hochschule der Medien bring to you the topic of games in classrooms. Sounds good to you or you have doubts? Make sure to hear the talk by some experts on this!

You are invited to join the classroom again - to discuss how games can fit into school lessons. The Hochschule der Medien has created the game ABGETAUCHT - EIN FISCHER LERNSPIEL together with the Ludwig Uhland Gymnasium especially for that. The topics the game is based on is biology and geography. After that there will be a discussion by experts about the process of implementing games, one of them is Christoph Rasulis from our newest member Pixelcloud.

Junior Days @FMX today!

For all the young people out there thinking obout studying animation, media, interactive design, games, film, etc - this is the event you should be to ask all the questions you might have! The HEROES Animationsinstitut and Hochschule der Medien will be there.

19 universities and schools from Germany, Europe and the USA will present themselves at their booths, answer questions and present their projects. In addition, interactive VR student projects and projects from the FMX conference program can be tested daily.

The Animationinstitut of Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg will offer short introductory events on subjects of study and job descriptions in the industry. 

Hochschule der Medien is founding new institute!

This month the Hochschule der Medien - University of Applied Sciences - will be founding the INSTITUTE FOR APPLIED ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE In Stuttgart. More and more artificial intelligence can be found in our daily life, just thinking about how integrated and “normal” the constant usage of our Smartphones is points this out.
